Cupping - 拔 罐

Cupping Therapy –
拔罐

C
upping therapy is an alternative massage therapy that comes from China. Traditionally it involves burning material such as alcohol, herbs, or paper inside of a cup to produce a suction effect that is then transferred onto the skin.

At Mu Tao Wellness Spa, we practice both this traditional method as well as the modern method known as “air cupping” that uses silicon cups to create suction on an oily skin surface instead.

Fire Cupping in Las Vegas

In addition to the distinction found between fire cupping and air cupping, there is also a distinction between dry fire cupping and wet fire cupping. Wet fire cupping involves both suction and controlled medicinal bleeding, which is not something that we offer.

Seeing that it takes 10 days to recover from wet fire cupping, in addition to the chance of infection, it is not a risk that we endeavor to undertake for our clients. We offer dry fire cupping however, which has been proven time and time again to have many benefits including but not limited to:

• Loosening tight muscles
• Improving digestive issues
• Improving skin issues
• Promoting blood flow
• Relieving back and neck pain
• Reducing the symptoms of fatigue
• Heling reduce the effects of migraines

AirCupping at Mu Tao Wellness Spa

Air cupping will always involve the application of massage oils to the skin. This makes it possible for cups that have a negative pressure to take hold of your skin when they are applied.

Air cups are often made out of silicon, which makes it possible for our massage therapists to squeeze out air inside of them, produce a negative pressure, and safely move them around your skin once they have been applied.
